Frequently Asked Questions
Enjoy this welcome message and the purpose of our name by our Founder, Minister Humphrey.
Will you teach my Young Lady about abuse?
No. We will not teach your young lady about abuse. Our sole purpose is to encourage young ladies to be the full of who God has called them to be and undergird them as they walk out their destiny as whole individuals. *See our About Us for more information.
What will the teaching sessions consist of?
The curriculum for our teaching sessions focuses on self-esteem, encouragement and inspiration. The sessions will include practical, relevant lessons based on scriptures from the Holy Bible. We will also share our own experiences as women, to teach, answer questions and encourage our young ladies to be their best self. Our hope is that God's word and our testimony will inspire our young ladies to be true to who they are and keep them from making some of the mistakes we "Aunties" made as young ladies. We want our young ladies to be so holistically balanced (emotionally, physically, socially, mentally and spiritually) and inwardly secure that outside words or forces will not deter them from their confidence and purpose!
What else should my young lady expect?
Your young lady should expect to engage in meaningful conversations with similar aged peers in a safe space. She should expect to have a support system as she faces the challenges sometimes inevitable with life. She should expect to have a team cheering her on as she experiences success and accomplishments in school, sports, community work, etc. and as she celebrates personal growth milestones. She should also expect a team of Aunties and young ladies holding her accountable for her words and actions as she navigates life.
What type of lessons will be taught?
Our yearly theme and monthly lessons can be found on our Sessions page here.
What happens after my young lady registers?
A welcome email will be sent to the email listed, along with a list of the session topics, dates and the meeting link.
What is the purpose of your name?
Our name was birthed from the dream God gave our founder, Minister Stephanie Humphrey, in 2017 (see Dream) as the umbrella to undergird this ministry. Aunties signifies aunties, mothers, grandmothers, licensed professionals, spiritual leaders and community members who have banded together for the sole purpose of educating, equipping, empowering and advocating for young ladies, ages 5-18. Against signifies our stance against harmful environments, toxic relationships and any other negativity that impacts the health and well-being of our young ladies. Abuse signifies our mission to educate our young ladies in such a way that they are fully equipped to recognize when individuals or environments are not healthy for them and are fully empowered to make the right choice for themselves to stay healthy. In addition, our advocacy efforts include connecting with licensed health care professionals who can support our young ladies in the event they need these services.
